competition to develop the architectural concept for a multifunctional complex on Russky Island

location:
Russky Island, Primorsky Krai, Russia
client:
"Interros"
year:
2023 — 2024

at the request of the company "Interros," CM International acted as the operator of the competition to create a business center for SAR residents on Russky Island.

The Special Administrative Region (or SAR) is a territory with a flexible tax and currency regulation regime for companies. The new business center project envisions the creation of modern offices for SAR resident companies, services, and event spaces. The total area of the center will be about 15,000 square meters, with a landscaped recreational area on the adjacent territory, and the first floor of the center will become an open multifunctional space for the public.

To consolidate the best ideas and ensure the maximum alignment of the future project with the geographical location, specifics, and landscape of Russky Island, "Interros" announced a closed architectural competition involving leading architectural firms from Russia. CM International acted as the operator of the closed competition: they analyzed the territory, collected its requirements, and developed a detailed technical brief for the participants. We also organized the work of the competition jury, which included top specialists from companies connected to the Far East.

The competition involved leading Russian architectural firms, and after lengthy discussions, the jury decided to focus on two concepts — from ABD ARCHITECTS and KAMEN ARCHITECTS. Over the next four months, the two architectural firms will refine their designs in accordance with the technical brief and project goals, after which "Interros" will select the optimal solution.
