master plan and landscaping of a multifunctional coastal area

location:
The coast of Lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
year:
2022—2023

what might a master plan of a recreational area look like?

In Soviet times, there was a network of holiday homes on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Some of them are still receiving guests, others are abandoned. To bring people back to the territory, we created a master plan for it, developed architectural and planning solutions, and laid down the basic principles of landscaping.

The main objective of the project is to create a modern space for recreation and living on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. The master plan assumes that the territory will be multifunctional: hotel and apartment complexes, a commercial promenade and secluded natural villas with townhouses form a diverse and saturated urban environment for tourists and residents. The traditional motifs of Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan will not only be reflected in the architecture of the "old city", but will also be delicately integrated into modern buildings.

The entire territory will be permeated with green "corridors" — parks and alleys, public and commercial spaces. A forest park with walking trails, sports fields, a sauna complex, a swimming pool and a pier is planned between the urbanized area and the lake. This will help ensure year-round interaction with water.

The project has been developed with possible expansion in mind, which will allow it to develop according to a well-thought-out scenario and maintain its integrity in the future.
